While the potential for artistry begins with the natural musicality of children, it is developed by the commitment and capabilities of the artist-teacher, in partnership with the student and the parents.
Effective music education combines artistry with opportunities to make music ‘musical’
through active participation and understanding.
My aim is to inspire students and to make lessons exciting so that they will want to make
music at home. While the learning is rigorous, it is logical and systematic and should be
enjoyable for students.
The vocal production of musical tone is a vital and creative process which involves the body, mind and emotions. My aim is to guide each student in developing a relaxed and healthy vocal technique that could then be applied to any
style of singing.

I strongly believe in the value of music education and that every child is entitled to a quality
music educational program.
I am a practitioner of the Orff Approach to music education. This holistic and all-inclusive
approach actively involves all students in music-making, composing, creating and
performing.
Through singing, percussion work,
melodic instrumental work on xylophones, glockenspiels, metallophones and marimbas, dance, and creative movement, students are led on a path to empower them to be creative and take charge of their own learning.
I have a passion for choral work, and believe that every child should be taught to sing in tune and be given the opportunity to experience the joy of singing in a choir.
