Anette has been involved with music education for forty years; ranging from early
childhood, primary and secondary school to tertiary level.
She has taught piano, voice and music theory and directed regional children’s choirs, church
choirs, community choirs and taught all age groups within the school environment in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
Anette has presented both locally and nationally at Orff, Australian Society of Music
Education and Australian National Choral Association conferences, and internationally at the
International Society of Music Education Conference (Pretoria 1998). She has published
articles on aspects of the Orff Approach to music education and on choral work.
Anette was the Director of Music at All Saints’ College in Perth (2011–18) and the Junior
School Music Co-ordinator (2003–10) also at All Saints’ College. She now runs her own music
studio, teaching piano, voice, theory and ATAR Music, provides professional development for teachers, and is a music education consultant for schools.
A practitioner of the Orff Approach to music education, Anette has completed Level 4 in Orff
Schulwerk (Sydney) and attended an International Summer School at the Orff Institute in Salzburg.
Anette strongly believes that every child should have the benefit of a quality music
education, be taught to sing in tune, and be given the opportunity to experience the joy of singing and making music.
